Kinetic modelling of peat water treatment with continuous electrocoagulation using aluminium electrodes

Peat water source could be utilized to mitigate scarcity issues that are experienced by the local communities in Sarawak rural areas. However, this needs treated prior domestic consumption due levels of humic substances being incomparable Malaysia quality standards. As such, study aims formulate kinetic models for peat treatment with continuous electrocoagulation system using aluminium electrodes. Correspondingly, formulated adsorption isotherm and variable order (VOK). Subsequent, has found formulation VOK model Freundlich is well fitted experimental data regression coefficient (R2) values higher than 0.90 comparison VOK-Langmuir VOK-Jovanovic models. Additionally, VOK-Freundlich able predict removal turbidity, chemical oxygen demand, colour from system. Overall, demonstrates electrodes follows model.
